Project: Healthcare Intelligence and Analytics Platform (HIAP)
There is a vast number of medical records including medical images, worldwide. Medical imaging has been extremely important for diagnosis and monitoring in various diseases throughout the years. Images are the largest source of data in healthcare, however is one of the most difficult sources to be analyzed by an automated system.
Medical imaging has been positively affected by technological developments, mainly driven from crucial developments in Artificial Intelligence. With recent machine learning advances, AI has become the most discussed topic nowadays in medical imaging research, since it may bring radical changes in diseases’ diagnosis while it offers a valuable tool to healthcare professionals allowing newer insights into diagnostics, treatment options, and patient outcomes.
The HIAP project belongs on that scientific area by developing the next generation of medical image analysis tools based on AI strategies. The aim of the project is to build and deploy an AI based tool that will automatically analyze CT images. This tool will reduce the detection time significantly and promote more accurate diagnosis.
Consequently, HIAP project developments will support the medical society by providing accurate diagnostic tools and will create a unique strategic advantage for every healthcare organization that will use it.
